Design agency needed a better way to communicate with clients
At 3.7 Designs we eat our own dog food, sometimes we are our own client. In the early 2010’s we wanted to improve the way we communicated with our clients.
While the project management software we used was adequate, it did a poor job communicating project progress. Clients often struggled to conceptualize if we were 50% done, 60% done, etc… and the more we thought about it, so did we.
So we set out to design and build our own project management system. One that would help track and visualize project progress and project status.
Rigorous discovery, exploring all the options, finding delight.
We ran this project like we would a client project, creating user personas, creating user journey maps and defining our goals and objectives.
Research informed sketches, sketches informed wireframes and wireframes informed prototypes. Once we were confident we had the right approach, the perfect dashboard that would clearly communicate what’s been done, what will be done next and how far along are we, we applied a beautiful and calming visual layer.
Not only did we design this platform, we built it. This tool revolutionized the way we do work with clients. It was so useful we started selling it as a product offering.
Today there are thousands of people using Project Panorama for all different types of use cases. Not only agencies, but swim schools, body shops, internal marketing teams, higher education institutions, and even multi-national banks!
