I am constantly in situations where I am trying to explain what I do, and it rarely comes off sounding any more professional than “I drawde pictures for the online world web wide!”

It seems many people have also encountered this problem – odd for a field that has lots of potential for success and money. The most common method of battling this is to come up with titles that sound complex and important. Web design for example, is now getting referred to as “New Media” or “User Experience Design”.

So I came up with a quick lists of titles you can give yourself to make your job sound more complex and important than “I create de pages with Microsoft frontpage 2002″

• Web Design (interface) – Network based Interior Decorator
• Web Development (backend) – Online foundation development and web construction management
• Search Engine Optimization – Partner with Google in ranking results management
• Search Engine Marketing – Effective online Billboard Design and placement
• Web Application – About to go bankrupt Ala .com bust
